This fall semester, the Materials Science and Engineering Program will welcome a new Assistant Professor. Dr. Avinash Dongare received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, in 2008. He went on to serve as a National Research Council Research Associate for the U.S. Army Research Office in collaboration with North Carolina State University. Most recently Dr. Dongare held a position as Senior Research Associate at North Carolina State University as part of Department of Energy’s first innovation hub: Consortium for Advanced Simulation of Light Water Reactors (CASL). His current research interests focus on the use of large-scale materials modeling methods across multiple scales to design materials with superior properties for the next-generation hi-tech applications. Further information on Dr. Dongare can be found here.
