On March 12, 2013, the UConn School of Engineering held a reception ceremony to recognize the undergraduate students who received a scholarship in 2013. Both industry and private donors sponsor SoE scholarships, and many of these donors or industry representatives attended the reception to meet and congratulate the recipients. Numerous undergraduate students working towards a Materials Science and Engineering degree were honored on this night for their hard work, character, and outstanding academic performance.
